Review: e.l.f. Studio 11 Piece Brush Collection

This is a review on e.l.f. Studio 11 Piece Brush Collection. Yes,it's time to move up from your fingertips and this is a start place to start. This brush are a steal for only 30 USD dollars. It's a 11 piece brush set, that is great for starting out.

The set comes with Sleek, Water-Resistant Case, Eyeshadow "C" Brush, Complexion Brush, Small Angled Brush, Small Smudge Brush, Fan Brush, Powder Brush, Angled Foundation Brush,Concealer Brush, Small Precision Brush, Blush Brush, and Contouring Brush.

This is great starting set, but you have to care for these brushes. If you don't it will show, they will start to shed. I wash my brushes every week, I lay them in an area where they can lay flat while drying. Also, you don't want to leave them submerged in water, it will break down the glue in the brush. These are brushes that may need replace after a year, however if you take care of them they can really last.

The reason, I think that these brushes are so great for someone starting to learn makeup is you get assortment of brush, so you can learn what brush work best for what. You get a understanding of why it's so important to take care of your brushes. You can learn how to use makeup brush and not worry about the cost of the brush.

  1. Hey Cindy,
Thank you so much for your question! Yes, the brush will get softer after you wash it.
However, how soft it gets depends on what you wash it with. In my experience they won't get as soft as MAC and Sigma brushes. However, they are still a great place to start. These are pretty good starting out makeup brushes, but it's important to properly wash them. For some reason, I can't seem to stress that enough. (lol) If you get water into the handle the brush will break down the glue leading to shedding… the head of the brush could even pop off. A lot of people that I know with these brushes hang them upside down to dry to avoid water getting into the handle. I just lay my brush on their side, but am very gentle in washing them.
If you care for them right they will last, if you don't they will break down really fast.
    Best of Luck!
