L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Red Review

HiColor has become a staple in many do-it-yourself hair dyes. Known to turn dark-haired to light hair or getting great pigmentation, It claims to lift dark hair 3-4 levels with no pre-lightening. HiColor is a great way to avoid bleaching your head. It's been reviewed several times among the YouTube community, so I thought for myself I would give it a try.

I decided to go with L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Red. Due to the fact that I'm currently a redhead with Manic Panic and Jamz.
I was looking for more permanent bright solutions for my red hair. They do offer other colors, such as blonde, magenta and so on. I was worried about dye my red with a dye made for dark hair, because my hair is bleached blondish. (I say the ish part because it has some red and pink left in from the Panic Manic.)

For the price wasn't very expensive. For L'Oreal Excellence HiColor I went to Sally's and got good price. HiColor is somewhere between $8-$10 price range. We all know how fast red haired can fade, so having it for a inexpensive price is a great benefit of the hair dye.

You do however have to purchase volume developer. Depending on how light you want to red or how bright depends on the level of developer you should use. Most people from what I noticed tend to use the 30 to give a bright red color. Being bleached before and semi dyed red/pink, I decided to go with the 20 developer. I didn't want to overly process my already processed hair.

This hair dye was simply to use. Really easy to apply. I would recommend it to a friend it has great pigmentation. It is great way to avoid having to use panic manic and getting a permanent result. It's a lot healthier then normal box and can achieve a brighter look.

A week later and I still love the color, there is a certain way it highlight in the light that I just love it's hard to describe, but light reflexes off of the hair in a pinkish manner. The pink tint might have a lot to do with previous color of my hair. It's just so vibrant I can't get over it.

I still refresh my hair with a semi dye, hey got to use up that Manic Panic and Jamz right? Anyways, I mixed a little of the semi dye with my hair oils. It works great and give it a unique look.

As of now this is my favorite red hair dye. I would recommend it to anyone.

Review: Dream Smooth Mousse Foundation

Dream Smooth Mousse Foundation is a great drug store buy. For only 8-9 USD it's not a bad medium to full foundation. This foundation offers a matte finish and even toned coverage due to high color pigmentation. It's not for those with dry skin , it can make the makeup loo flaky and cakey. Unless a moisturizer is use underneath.

Applying is foundation can be challenge for those who are use to using foundation brushes. I prefer the beauty blender, it allows for even coverage and works great with any mousse foundation. If you don't have a beauty blender try the good old finger tips.

There are a couple downside to this foundation if you don't use the proper primer you are going to have a hard time getting it to stay on. It isn't transfer resistant, it will get on clothes, pillow cases and spread.

It can also be heavy on the skin, to avoid this remember a little goes a long way, and blend, blend, blend!

The set comes with Sleek, Water-Resistant Case, Eyeshadow "C" Brush, Complexion Brush, Small Angled Brush, Small Smudge Brush, Fan Brush, Powder Brush, Angled Foundation Brush,Concealer Brush, Small Precision Brush, Blush Brush, and Contouring Brush.

This is great starting set, but you have to care for these brushes. If you don't it will show, they will start to shed. I wash my brushes every week, I lay them in an area where they can lay flat while drying. Also, you don't want to leave them submerged in water, it will break down the glue in the brush. These are brushes that may need replace after a year, however if you take care of them they can really last.

The reason, I think that these brushes are so great for someone starting to learn makeup is you get assortment of brush, so you can learn what brush work best for what. You get a understanding of why it's so important to take care of your brushes. You can learn how to use makeup brush and not worry about the cost of the brush.

MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation! A foundation that claim to be invisible on camera and in person. Offer Medium to full coverage, buildable coverage of course. It offers to even look nice in hash lighting! Available in over 26 shades, it offers a great range of color match.

So, how does this foundation hold up? Well, the foundation can oxidize... so be careful when picking out one of those 26 shades. Other than that the foundation is very natural looking its very fresh looking for a medium to full foundation. Which can be built up fairly easy for more coverage.

It's not made for newbies with problematic skin! Yes, this is a great foundation maybe even one of the best. This foundation Is somewhat hit or miss. You might be totally in love with it or not. For those it's doesn't work for it might become greasy for oily skin or cakey for dry. If you are newbie or not wanting put in time in to getting this makeup to work for you, just skip over it.

If you don't mind putting in a little extra time, this foundation will be totally flawless. If you like it invest in the prime and setting power they whole maximize the look. Overall I would give the found a 4 out of 5.

Review: Kat Von D Lock-it Tattoo Foundation

Kat Von D did a great job on her Lock-it Tattoo Foundation! For all of you that don't know Kat Von D is a tattoo artist/TV show personally.

It's great for covering acne, under eye circles, and other imperfections. It's a thick foundation, that more than likely won't work well for dry skin types, unless you use a good, but works great for oily or combination skin. It comes in about 18 different shades, with different undertones. The cost is around 30-60 USD.

This is a very full coverage foundation! This covers scar, dark marks and hyper pigmentation. A little goes a long way, because it's so thick. If you do not need full coverage step out on this foundation, you won't like it. If you do want full coverage with this foundation you are going to want to highlight and contour to bring back dimension to your face. If you don't highlight and contour your face is going to look very flat.

It's said to last 24 hours. However, I really don't think it last that long without a primer. Don't get me wrong it last a really long time, but without out prime... it lasted about six to eight hours before noticing any changes. With this foundation it really depends on how oily your skin is the more oily the likely it will wear off during the day.

The foundation claims to stay on your skin and not transfer. I think that this great for not transferring makeup to clothes or fabric. It's very transfer resistant. It can lost for a very long time, however if you have oily skin there might be a slightly transfer.

Overall I would give this foundation an 8.5, it is truly a great makeup if you are looking for full coverage!

Review: on Jamz Semi Hair Dye

These bold, fun colors aren't fooling anyone. Jamz may be known for their lovely shades... But not for their staying power. I brought two of these lovely dyes for my new red to pink look. And they just wouldn't stay. I tried all the tricks like flat ironing the color in and leaving it in overnight, but this drop dead color just didn't want to stay on this bleach blonde head.

This wasn't much of a surprise! Jamz isn't known for their staying power, but are they a complete waste of money? When the beautiful color just washes away? So, what is a girl to do? I decided not to wash out the color, leaving it in and flat ironing it into a style!! I am not sure if this will have any damage to the hair, but I adore the color... So, I am not going back anytime soon! Also, it has a great fruity sugary smell, which help with leaving it in.

Overall, I would say great temp dye! The best use is most likely using it as a quick color refresh. However, not a good semi permanent due to the fact it washes away so quickly. 4 1/2 out of 10!
